RAISING FUNDS AND AWARENESS
The S4 Religious and Moral Education course asks students to research a charity or issue and raise awareness or funds for the chosen cause. A group of girls from Miss Campbell’s class chose The Lavender Touch, a Borders based charity which raises funds to help support people living with cancer. Established in 2003, the Lavender Touch works alongside NHS Borders and the LT therapists work as part of the holistic care team for people who live in the Scottish Borders who have cancer.
As part of their course, the girls had to research the charity and plan their fund-raising. They decided on a cake sale which was held at break on Thursday 15 January. They all contributed to the sale with their home baking and were delighted with the response. Once prelims are over, they are looking forward to presenting their cheque to the Lavender Trust.
