STUDENTS GO "CHECKERS" FOR CHESS
Earlston High School Students took part in an Inter-House Chess Competition last Thursday. The students filled the hall eager to take to the board. From all five Houses, they battled it out making moves and take overs which were far beyond their years. The feeling in the hall was electric as more and more people were eliminated and even when the final lunch bell sounded, the players were still on the edge of their seats eager to win the game.
Despite the competitive atmosphere, everyone walked away in good spirits and having made new chess "mates".
